The Dolan people (Uyghur: دولان, Latin Uyghur: Dolan) are the name of the Uyghur indigenous people distributed in the Tarim Basin of Xinjiang, the Yarkand River, the Tarim River and the Lop Nur area. They speak a dialect of Uyghur. They were from the Chagatai Khanate . They mostly live as farmers and hunters. They mainly live in Aksu, Kashgar and Yarkand.
Dolan is a cultural phenomenon in Maigaiti, Bachu and Shache in Kashgar Prefecture, Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, China. Its main forms include Muqam, dance, etc. Its artistic style is unrestrained and heroic, which is very different from the general Uyghur style. There is also a kind of Daolang people, who are said to be a branch of the Uyghurs.
